POST 5 -> CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME.
The curriculum of my current career is really that I like it quite a lot, but I would suggest some changes.
The field of psychology is very broad, so it should be limited by providing specific careers in the general areas that compete with them.
Now, at the University of Chile, one can take clinical, educational, labour, community and legal electives, it is something that in my opinion should be separate careers and not just stay with the elective ones.
That would achieve a more focussed career in less time, three or four years, than the five that normally lasts.
I think that in the faculty there should be shared buildings but different from the different areas, with their necessary programs and tools, such as the mirror room in Clinic and the programs for Legal or Community.
Regarding teaching methods, I think it should be as it is today, although it would reinforce group work in an environment where interaction is favoured without intimidation by the teacher, so that it is learned in community as well as individually in evaluations.
In general, I really like how my professional career at the University is structured, but as other Latin American countries have done, we could focus more on future professionals in the country by providing specialised careers in the area of psychology that they would like to practice, that would help a lot because unfortunately, there are many professionals who, by thinking about their economy, leave aside the vocation and that at the time of providing clinical therapy, it is noticeable and the patient, therefore, has a bad therapeutic experience that those of us who want to dedicate ourselves to that, have to remedy.
